What is AMD?
As we age, the central part of our sight—called the Macula—can begin to wear down. This typically affects adults over the age of 50. Because it happens slowly, many people in Lagos don't realize they have it until they struggle to recognize faces, read street signs, or drive.

Common Symptoms: When to See Us

Understanding the Two Types of AMD
Patients at our clinics are usually diagnosed with one of two forms:
Dry AMD
The most common type. It involves a slow thinning of the macula. We manage this through OCT Monitoring and specialized nutritional plans (AREDS2) to keep your vision stable.
Wet AMD
This happens when tiny blood vessels leak fluid into the eye. This is a medical emergency. If caught early, specialized treatments can often save your sight.
